Bicielectron
Keep the platform, lose the limits
A high-performance redesign built inside Wix for Bicielectron, an electric bike, scooter and conversion-kit store and workshop in Bogotá. The approved design shipped as custom web components served by Wix’s own backend, synced live with the Wix Stores catalog, with technical SEO and an early-paint engine that took mobile LCP from 13.6 s to about 3 s. Delivered and verified on the production domain; the new homepage is launching now. Built for a partner agency in Colombia.

Bicielectron sells electric bikes in Bogotá from a Wix store with years of organic rankings: a working shop with Wix Stores and Mercado Pago, 41 products, 7 categories, bookable workshop services and 88 indexed URLs.
The client had an approved redesign and two firm requirements: stay on Wix, and lose no rankings. A design the platform couldn’t build, on a platform the client couldn’t leave.
- — Wix doesn’t import designs as code: the editor is visual and its AI section generator produced generic layouts, far from pixel-perfect
- — SEO could not be put at risk: years of organic rankings across 88 URLs, so a platform migration was ruled out
- — Mobile performance was critical: the current home measured a mobile LCP of 13.6 to 21.4 seconds, and an external SEO audit of the first redesign version said “do not approve yet”
- — A live catalog that could not be duplicated: products, prices and photos change in Wix Stores, and the redesign had to read them live and link to the existing product pages
Instead of migrating and risking the rankings, we shipped the design as code that Wix serves: isolated web components (Custom Elements with Shadow DOM) delivered from the client’s own domain through Wix Velo, connected live to the Wix Stores catalog, with full structured data and an early-paint technique for mobile.
Nothing is hosted outside Wix.
- + Pixel-faithful components inside Wix · Custom Elements + Shadow DOM isolate the approved design from the platform’s CSS, compiled from the design files by a Python build pipeline
- + Serverless backend on the client’s own domain · 5 Velo HTTP functions serve the bundles and live catalog data, with per-response cache rules
- + Live catalog sync + one dynamic product template · the home and every product page read Wix Stores in real time, with retries and graceful fallbacks
- + SEO that survives a redesign · 9 JSON-LD documents in the initial HTML, per-page meta and Open Graph, crawlable product and category links, and zero URL changes
- + An early-paint engine for mobile LCP · head-safe placeholders and AVIF images took mobile LCP from 13.6–21.4 s to roughly 3 s
Inside the build.
Brand, interface and system — shown as they shipped.
Not a Wix site. A layer of engineering inside a closed platform.
There is no custom database and no AI in the product. The invisible part is the architecture: isolated components, a serverless backend on the client’s domain, live catalog sync, technical SEO in the initial HTML and an early-paint engine that works around the platform’s late render. Roughly 65% frontend and performance, 35% backend, integration and technical SEO.
The platform renders late. The user doesn’t notice.
Wix loads the custom component late on mobile. A placeholder identical to the real hero paints from the first HTML, stays as the LCP element and removes itself once the component renders.
Head-safe by design
Loose HTML in the page head was closing the head early and pushing title, robots and structured data into the body. The snippets were rewritten as style and script only.
Shadow DOM adaptations in the build
CSS variables, DOM queries, inline handlers, anchors, fixed navigation and viewport units each needed an adaptation, applied automatically by the generators.
One template, every product
The product template adapts to vehicles, kits and accessories, reads specs the client manages in Wix, hides empty sections and retries on transient Wix Data failures.
Images 7× lighter
A 427 KB hero became a 54 KB AVIF on mobile, and product photos of up to 765 KB dropped to 44–60 KB, served from the Wix CDN.
Hybrid AI Coding
A senior engineer owned the architecture and every decision with the client, while AI agents implemented generators, components and 150+ QA scripts under independent verification. Six pages went from the change of approach to delivery in under two weeks.
Technologies & Tools
The tech stack powering this solution
Beyond the numbers, we delivered a system that transformed how this client operates.
Fast where it matters
Mobile LCP dropped from 13.6–21.4 s on the current home to about 3 s, and the Lighthouse mobile performance score went from 33–43 to 80–81.
SEO-safe by design
Zero URLs changed, 9 structured-data documents in the initial HTML and more category links than the original. The client’s external audit went from “do not approve yet” to 8 of 10 points met and none unmet.
A store that runs itself
Products, prices and photos flow live from Wix Stores into the home and a single product template for 41+ products. The client manages the catalog; no developer needed.
