Rescate 2000
Dignity by design, in two languages
Rescate 2000 is a Christian 501(c)(3) ministry in Atlanta and Gainesville, Georgia, that has served people living on the street and vulnerable families for 27 years, more than 90,000 people by its own count. It had no website, only a Facebook profile. We designed and built a fast, fully bilingual Spanish and English site faithful to its Matthew 20:28 identity: real giving through a verified Zelle QR with the EIN in plain sight, the founder’s video, Instagram and Facebook, dignity-first photography of the people it serves, and automated QA and deploys on every change. Live since July 2026 and still evolving with the ministry.

A persistent language toggle, with zero language-leak defects in automated QA
Across 8 pages plus the shared header and footer
Curated from 63 client photos, centering the people served
From the bilingual engine and giving page to the media pipeline, QA and deploys
Rescate 2000 serves a mostly Spanish-speaking community, while many of its donors, sponsors and partners work in English.
Every year it serves 7,500 full dinners, supports 1,500 families through its food bank and holds 60 community events, by its own figures. Yet it had no website at all, only a Facebook profile, a minimal budget and an international expansion under way.
- — Truly bilingual · the community it serves speaks Spanish and its supporters operate in English, so the site had to live fully in both languages, without Spanglish or visible duplicate content
- — Dignity over marketing · the photos show people in vulnerable situations, and the ministry asked to put the people it serves at the center, with respect, rather than the volunteers
- — No backend and no budget for one · donated hosting, no card processor yet and no application server, yet giving had to work for real and the forms had to reach the ministry
- — Trust and upkeep · a 501(c)(3) that takes donations has to look credible (EIN, privacy, a consistent brand) and be easy to keep current for a non-technical team
We built a fast static site in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hosted at no cost to the ministry on A2P Hosting, our own hosting company, and easy to keep, and put the engineering where it counts: a bilingual content engine, a media pipeline, the integrations the ministry already uses, and automated QA and deploys.
- + A bilingual engine · every text lives in Spanish and English with a persistent toggle, including select options and placeholders, and automated checks that no page ever shows both languages at once
- + Real giving without a backend · the Zelle QR was cropped from a phone screenshot, optimized and verified by decoding it before going live, on a donation page with the EIN and 501(c)(3) status in plain sight
- + A scroll-reactive header · light with the color logo at the top, dark glass with a gold mark as you scroll, the active page highlighted and a mobile slide-out menu
- + The founder’s voice and the community · the founder’s video optimized for the web on the home and About pages, an Instagram reel and a Facebook card, and reusable slideshows across the site
- + Dignity-first photography · 63 client photos curated down to 38 optimized images that center the people served, replacing placeholders as real photos arrived
Inside the build.
Brand, interface and system — shown as they shipped.
It looks like just a website.
There is no database and no application server here, by design: we donate the hosting through A2P Hosting, and the site has to stay simple to keep. The engineering is in the bilingual content architecture and its edge cases, the image, video and QR pipeline, the integrations and the automated QA and deploys. Roughly 85% frontend and 15% integrations and tooling.
One rule that fixed every page
CSS rules with a display value were overriding the hidden attribute, so some titles showed in Spanish and English at once. One global rule fixed it across every page, and an automated check now guards it.
Language down to the last detail
Select options and placeholders cannot hold nested markup, so they swap languages from their own data attributes, along with the page’s lang attribute.
A donation QR that really works
Before publishing anything that moves money, the QR was cropped, cleaned and decoded to confirm it points to the ministry’s own Zelle account.
A feed that did not load
The Facebook feed rendered blank because the ministry uses a personal profile rather than a page, so we replaced the fragile plugin with a clean card that always works.
Media built for the web
Images resized and compressed with sharp, the founder’s video optimized with ffmpeg for instant playback, and slideshows that respect reduced-motion settings.
Hybrid AI Coding
Senior engineering made the architecture and every decision with the ministry, while AI agents implemented each change, independent QA checked it in a headless browser and an automated deploy published it and verified it live.
